Splice Communications Inc. has announced delivery of the first 10G IP Transit Port in California for its forward planning customer GNi.

Andy Coan
Co-Founder, President and CEO
Andy Coan co-founded Splice Communications in 2002 with the vision of creating a company that would deliver viable solutions for customers that depend on E-Commerce, Voice, Video and other applications driven by a fast paced internet economy. Focusing on providing customers with choice, Mr. Coan built a strategic company that provides multiple options where customers are positioned for growth in changing environments. Through steady leadership, a process driven approach and a keen focus on fiscal responsibility, Mr. Coan has developed a company-wide atmosphere of integrity, loyalty, and professionalism, and has positioned Splice as one of the fastest growing companies in Northern California. Mr. Coan has over 15 years of proven success in the telecommunications industry. Prior to Splice, Mr. Coan served in an executive management role for 3 years at Telseon IP Services, which was acquired by OnFiber Communications Inc. Mr. Coan was responsible for some of the largest Carrier and Strategic accounts at OnFiber. Prior to Telseon/OnFiber, Mr. Coan worked for eight years, in various sales and management roles at MCI/WorldCom. He was consistently promoted and recognized as one of the company’s top performers. Mr. Coan also serves on the Advisory Boards of Pacific Business Centers and Bridge Works, Inc. in San Mateo, California. He holds a BS degree in Psychology and Business from San Jose State University.

Scott Bischoff
Director of Finance and Corporate Operations
Scott oversees corporate operations for Splice. His responsibilities include but are not limited to; human resource policies and procedures, accounts receivable and payable, all financials and P&L accountability. His contributions at Splice have ensured the company remains solid and secure enjoying an outstanding financial reputation in the industry. Scott has over 15 years of experience in operations and financial management . His experience spans multiple industries including corporate retail, software/technology and corporate franchise. For seven years he was the District Manager of Operations/Finance for DHE Inc, a leader in the tourist retail market with operations across the U.S. and overseas. Scott has also held management positions at CrossCommerce and Fortune 100 companies including Southland Corporation and ServiceMaster Corporation. He has personally managed annual revenue in excess of $50 million while surpassing strict net income objectives. Scott holds a BA degree in Communications from California State University at Chico, and is completing his MBA at Saint Mary’s College of California.

Bill Risch
National VP of Sales

Mr. Risch was appointed Splice’s Vice President of Sales in April 2008.  He is well known in the industry for his outstanding leadership qualities and 20-year accomplished track record of delivering and sustaining profitable revenue within an extremely competitive market place.  His aggressive approach of identifying opportunities, developing strategies and providing tactical business solutions bring exceptional results designed for growth in both new and existing installed base accounts. The integrity and care he demonstrates result in high customer confidence, respect and satisfaction due to his consultative approach. Before joining Splice, Bill was Sales Director for Verizon, (Formerly MCI) where he managed the Western Region and was responsible for $60M in annual revenue. Sales of IP, Voice, and Networking Data products to Fortune 500 Enterprise and Global Accounts from his team resulted in consistent over-achievement of revenue objectives.  Prior to Verizon, he led successful sales organizations for WorldCom and MCI, and was consistently recognized for his ability to develop outstanding sales teams. Mr. Risch holds a BA in Economics from the University of California at Davis.


Cheryl Bowman
Director, Marketing & Sales Operations
Cheryl joined the Splice Team as a consultant in 2002 and was hired full time in 2004. She is responsible for Marketing and Sales Operations at Splice Communications. In addition to managing sales support and operations, her responsibilities include quality process development, quality control and continuous review of Splice end-to-end processes. Cheryl has held a number of management positions throughout her career including Director of Sales Marketing, Sales Engineering Mgr., Manager of Sales Operations and other strategic projects during her employment at Rolm Communications, IBM, Siemens, Telseon and OnFiber Communications. With over 20 years of experience within these organizations Cheryl was closely involved in managing sales support for Fortune 100 companies nationwide, and over $21 million of annual sales quota for the Siemens ICN Northwest Region. She was nominated and received ‘Circle of Excellence’ awards on six occasions throughout her career due to overachievement of critical revenue and margin targets. Cheryl holds a B.A. degree in Education and has achieved certification in several management programs within Rolm, IBM, and Siemens ICN.

Jennifer Redner
Director, Service Delivery
Jennifer is Director of Service Delivery for Splice Communications since 2004, and is responsible for all aspects of customer service, implementation, provisioning, and field operations specific to network installation. Prior to joining Splice, Jennifer worked for WorldCom, MCI and Verizon Business within the wholesale segment. She was responsible for direct sales where she focused on selling various fiber optic and IP networks to CLEC’s, ISP’s, ASP’s, and DSL providers. In addition, as Director of Carrier Sales Support, Jennifer was responsible for meeting and exceeding $120 million revenue plan for the 10 largest Carrier Accounts, including implementing sales strategies, contract negotiations, and customer satisfaction. Managing Account Relation Managers and Sales Support personnel, her team focused on selling service initiatives and revenue retention products targeted at the executive level Major Accounts. Jennifer was instrumental in developing sales methods, marketing techniques, and evaluation criteria for driving additional revenue streams for Verizon Wholesale. She was instrumental in budgeting and managing costs to increase bottom line revenue for their business unit ensuring all corporate requirements were met or exceeded. With over ten years of telecom experience, Jennifer has sold and supported some the largest carrier and wholesale accounts for both MCI and Splice, and has been acknowledged over the years for being a national top performer receiving multiple recognition awards. She also has strong entrepreneurial background having successfully owned and operated her own small business.

Eileen Warner
Director, Operations
Eileen manages Operations and Service Delivery at Splice. Her team is responsible for service implementation, customer support, and maintenance. She joined the Splice team in June of 2007 bringing with her more than 20 years of communications experience. Prior to joining the Splice team she held several Operational positions at MCI / Verizon including Sr. Service Manager, Regional Business Manager and Implementation Manager handling a base of more than 500 million in annual revenue. Eileen was on the development team for the first ever end-user billed Telecom resale program at MCI. The program was a tremendous success and boasted more than 450,000 end users at the time Eileen accepted another position within MCI. Prior to MCI she was the Communications Manager at Telos Corporation. She has been a multiple Presidents Award winner as well as receiving many awards for excellence in job performance. Her education is in Business Management and Communications.


Advisory Board Members

Matt Jones
Chief Executive Officer, CloudShield Technologies
Matt Jones brings 20 years of multi-disciplined management to CloudShield Technologies from the communications, networking, and storage industries. He joins CloudShield after most recently serving as CEO of Allocity. Allocity provided application specific storage management software for managing Microsoft Exchange databases. Allocity was sold to EMC in 2004. Prior to Allocity, Matt was COO of Excite@Home and CEO of Lipstream Networks, a Voice over IP company. Before Lipstream, Matt worked for Sprint for 13 years, where he held several executive positions, including VP of National Sales for Sprint PCS, SVP and General Manager for Sprint Canada, and Chief of Staff. He started his career at AT&T. Matt received his bachelor's degree from Miami University and his MBA from the University of Michigan.

Brian Mackin
Corporate Senior Manager, Sun Microsystems
Brian Mackin joined Splice's Advisory Board in 2006, bringing his nearly 20 years of technology management experience to the Splice team.
Currently, as a Senior Manager in Sun Microsystems Corporate Development organization, he focuses on strategic alliances and technology licensing matters. During his 15 year tenure at Sun, Brian's roles have included strategic business development, financial and contract management. He played a key role in the acquisition of several technology companies by Sun and was an integral part of the product development management team for iPlanet, a strategic alliance between Sun and AOL/Netscape. Prior to Sun, Brian was a part of the finance organization at Loral Aerospace Corporation.

Brian holds a BS in Managerial Economics from the University of California at Davis, and an MBA from Santa Clara University. Brian lives in El Dorado Hills, CA with his wife and two children, and serves on the Board of Directors of the El Dorado Hills Little League.

Michael McHale
Michael McHale Jr. brings more than 25 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, including 14 years of executive leadership. Most recently, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Phoenix-based Telespectra, a business broadband provider serving the Southwest United States. Named CEO in 2002, Mike leveraged the company’s broadband network, wireless Ethernet services and Network Operations Center to lead a business turnaround that ultimately saw revenue increase more than 300 percent the past two years. Prior to Telespectra, he held senior executive positions with various startup and established telecommunications carriers, including: Telseon, a startup provider of gigabit Ethernet Access Networks where he served as President and Chief Operating Officer from 2000 to 2002; XO-NextLink Communications where, as CMO and President of National Services from 1997 to 2000, he led the launch of services in 18 new metropolitan markets in just 24 months. He also developed critical business processes including new product development and market segmentation planning for Teleport Communications, a CLEC (now part of AT&T) where he was VP/GM Regional Vice President, and MFS, a CLEC (now part of Verizon) where he was Vice President of Product Marketing. Earlier in his career, Mike spent 14 years in various sales, technical and product management roles at IBM. As a communications industry leader, Mike served on the Board of Directors and the Strategic Planning Committee of the Arizona Telecommunications Information Council. In the community, he served as Vice President/President Elect of Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southern and Central Phoenix. He attended the University of Colorado and holds a bachelor’s and master’s of business administration from California Coast University.
