Matt Jones

Chief Executive Officer, CloudShield Technologies

Matt Jones brings twenty-five years of multi-disciplined management to CloudShield Technologies from the communications, security, networking, and storage industries. Prior to joining CloudShield, he served as CEO of Allocity, a provider of application-specific storage management software for managing Microsoft Exchange databases. Before Allocity, Mr. Jones was COO of Excite@Home and CEO of Lipstream Networks. Mr. Jones also worked for Sprint, where he held several executive positions, including VP of National Sales for Sprint PCS, SVP and General Manager for Sprint Canada, and Chief of Staff. He started his career at AT&T. Mr. Jones received his bachelor's degree from Miami University and his MBA from the University of Michigan.

Brian Mackin

Sr. Manager, Business Development, Nokia Corporation

Brian Mackin brings twenty-plus years of technology management experience to Splice's Advisory Board. Currently, as a Senior Manager in Nokia's Business Development organization, he focuses on strategic alliances and technology licensing matters for Nokia's worldwide mobile devices organization. Prior to Nokia, Mr. Mackin was part of Sun Microsystems' Corporate Development and Finance organizations.  During his sixteen-year tenure at Sun, Mr. Mackin’s roles included strategic business development, financial and contract management, and he played a key role in Sun’s acquisition of several technology companies. Prior to Sun, he was a part of the finance organization at Loral Aerospace Corporation. Mr. Mackin holds a BS in Managerial Economics from the University of California at Davis, and an MBA from Santa Clara University.

Michael McHale

Michael McHale Jr. has worked more than twenty-five years in the telecommunications industry, including fourteen years of executive leadership. Most recently, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Phoenix-based Telespectra, a business broadband provider serving the Southwest United States. Prior to Telespectra, he held senior executive positions with various startup and established telecommunications carriers. Those positions include: Telseon, where he served as President and Chief Operating Officer from 2000 to 2002; and XO-NextLink Communications, where he was CMO and President of National Services from 1997 to 2000. He also was VP / GM Regional Vice President for Teleport Communications, a CLEC (now part of AT&T), as well as Vice President of Product Marketing for MFS, a CLEC (now part of Verizon). Before that, Mr. McHale spent fourteen years in various sales, technical and product management roles at IBM. Mr. McHale served on the Board of Directors and the Strategic Planning Committee of the Arizona Telecommunications Information Council, and was Vice President / President Elect of Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southern and Central Phoenix. He attended the University of Colorado and holds a bachelor’s and master’s of business administration from California Coast University.
