In numerous conversations with companies we are asked about XYZ cloud or ABC telecom provider. The universe of providers is mind boggling, and trying to discern the services they offer, pricing, provisioning and contracts is daunting. A recent article in CIO discusses the considerations of selecting a cloud provider. I was surprised to see in a survey by CompTIA how relatively few companies conduct a thorough review of providers before making a selection. This is indicative of thinly stretched IT resources.
In the article Charles Weaver, co-founder and president of the MSPAlliance stated: "Our chief concern right now is that we see a lot of new service provider entities who are coming into the scene with almost lax attitudes toward how they construct and deliver services," Weaver says. "They appear to be mostly on the cloud side."
Splice helps customers sift through the daunting tasks of selecting and managing providers. The value we provide is to really listen to what our customers need to run and grow their businesses then design and help them implement an affordable, reliable and expandable solution. At the core of these solutions lies outstanding service delivery – we demand it from our network of providers on behalf of our customers.

It’s quite simple, really. This wide area networking technology for IP data transport between multiple locations allows organizations to run secure applications such as VoIP, data, video and point-of-sale convergence over one private IP network. It’s a state-of-the-art platform that is highly flexible, scalable and protocol agnostic and it prioritizes applications and delivery. MPLS integrates Layer 2 (L2) switching and Layer 3 (L3) routing. It enables network edge routers to apply simple MPLS labels to packets or frames.
Businesses with multiple locations requiring their offices to be tied together can employ MPLS so that they can:
It is not just those of us at Splice that love this technology. According to Gartner, the U.S. compound annual growth rate (CAGR) from 2009 through 2013 for MPLS VPNs is 14.5% (Source: Gartner Dataquest Market Statistics, Forecast: Enterprise Network Services, Worldwide, 2006-2013, #167790, 2009). So as the MPLS fever continues to rise, we’re ready to help our customers get out in front and gain the competitive technology and cost advantages offered by smart MPLS deployments.

Big Telcos Validate Growth in Enterprise Services
AT&T and Verizon, in recent quarterly earnings reports, validated the growth in enterprise services even as the economy remains sluggish. A recent ZDNet article highlighted the growth opportunities discussed by the two communication giants’ executives. Both companies noted that while traditional voice and communication services continue to decline, increasingly enterprises are embracing cloud, VPN and network management services. As AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson stated: “… Once you put the VPN in place, customers are buying more and more applications and services that ride on top of that, whether it be videoconferencing, telepresence and so forth…”
Saddled with IT staffing shortages and capital constraints, companies continue to look for not only the “right size” network necessary to meet growing bandwidth needs but also the expertise behind the services that helps companies of all sizes manage things like network design, ordering circuits, proactive monitoring, billing consolidation and much more.

I recently read an article in Forbes that caught my eye because it made an excellent distinction between what most of us think of as “quality service,” in which companies work to quickly remedy a problem that occurred. Not only is this type of service costly to companies but it also provides an inconvenience and lasting impression on the customer. The author suggests companies should instead focus on “executing a quality process, put simply, is serving customers right the first time.”
Having worked in the telecommunications industry for a good part of my career, experience tells me that many major service providers are operating under the “quality service” category, where excellence is measured on response time to issue resolution, decreasing the number of outages, fewer billing errors and similar metrics. Splice prides itself on doing it right the first time—from managing circuit orders to delivering on projects on time and within budget while proactively managing carriers and networks all while saving our customers time and money. We founded the company with the understanding that getting good service can be a real challenge and we’ve made it our mission to use our knowledge, experience, relationships and leverage to alleviate those common headaches on behalf of our customers.
Does Splice provide value and “quality process” to its customers? Tell us how your business executes quality process not quality service.
